[多图+视频]“好奇号”开启新一年度的探索之旅将首度使用刷子工具清扫火星地面

美国人的假期结束了，远在火星的“好奇号”的假期也结束。它将在近阶段重新投入了全新的探索工作中。据介绍，近日，“好奇号”又朝西北方向行进了3m，达到了一块被称为Snake River的岩石区域。截止到目前为止，“好奇号”总共的行经路程达到而来702m。

“好奇号”接下来阶段的其中一个探索任务则是首次对其电动刷进行测试，并为样本钻机寻找目标。据介绍，Snake River位于火星的“黄刀湾(Yellowknife Bay)”区域。它是一个浅洼地区域，比“好奇号”以往发现的任何一块区域的地形都要平坦一些，岩石的颜色也要更浅一些。

火星实验室首席研究员John Grotziger指出，Snake River显示的地质结构让他们感到困惑，它跟周围的岩石呈现的是一种横切的关系，但它似乎又像是这些断层形成之后才开始出现的。

“好奇号”在近阶段要完成由喷气推进实验室的冲击钻评测工作，然后会在未来用于收集岩石内部的粉末样品。另外，“好奇号”还要首次刷子工具，它将用于清扫火星表面的红褐色粉尘以及沙子，从而确保电钻可以得到一个清晰的目标。
